Deep Dive: Studying Math & Statistics at Whitman

Tuesday, April 7 at 3 p.m.

Are you interested in Math and Statistics courses at Whitman—maybe as a major or to prepare you for other majors in STEM? Join Professor of Mathematics Albert Schueller and Associate Professor of Statistics Marina Ptukhina to hear all Whitman has to offer. They’ll share possible career paths in the mathematical sciences—and how to get you from where you are to where you want to be. Whitman also has several combined majors that might interest you, including Math-Stats, Math-Econ and Math-Physics. It’s going to add up to a great conversation!

Deep Dive: The First Year Seminar Experience

Thursday, April 9 at 4 p.m.

You’ll kick off your academic life at Whitman in your First Year Seminar, where you’ll explore a fascinating topic with your classmates while honing your critical thinking, writing and discussion skills. This session is a great time to learn more about how the seminars work, the various Fall 2026 courses, and connect with two First Year Seminar professors, Nicole Simek and Tim Doyle.
